Choose Gratitude

Waking up every morning and stating what you are grateful for no matter how big or small will always help you start your day off right. No matter how shitty your day is or how awful everything around you seems there is always something to be grateful for.

The best way to start is to make a gratitude list of one hundred things you are grateful for and if you are ever struggling in any situation to find something good you can refer back to your list. When I first made my list I walked around my house and looked at the things I used every day. Sometimes we take what we use every day for granted because it is natural for us. But, not everyone has what you have and something that makes you happy could be something terrible for someone else. This list is about you and what brings you joy, what makes your life easier, and what keeps you safe.

When making your list you can think of things as big as waking up this morning, living, and breathing or things as small as your favorite snack, drink, and TV show. Many people get stuck and think that there has to be some big meaningful thing that they should be grateful for, but be grateful for the small things too.

There are people around the world who have nothing and are grateful every day. I always love when I see videos of children in impoverished countries because they are always so happy when they are playing and they are grateful for everything. Some people have their basic needs met and don’t think twice about being healthy and able to provide for their families.
